Our small unit is located at Plot No. 1404/2 in the GIDC. It’s just one of many similar buildings in this row, so it’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for the number on the gate. We handle a variety of small-scale manufacturing tasks depending on what is needed. The space is mostly filled with workbenches and piles of components. It’s not very organized, to be honest, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our mornings sorting through orders and getting the tools ready for the day. There isn't much in the way of a break room, so we usually just eat lunch together on some crates near the back. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the drills and the occasional truck backing in. We don't use any fancy software to run the business, just a notebook and some basic records. Sometimes things go wrong, a tool breaks or a shipment is late, and we just have to figure it out as we go. We aren't trying to become a huge corporation. We just want to keep the shop running and make enough to pay the bills and the workers. The GIDC is a maze of similar looking units, and ours is tucked away in a corner that doesn't get much sun. We use a few extra lights to keep the work area bright.
