Our place is right near the Nalanda Hotel in Gidc, so people usually find us by looking for that landmark. Plot No. 2211 is basically a big shed filled with bags of plastic granules and a couple of molding machines that have seen better days. The heat inside gets pretty intense, especially in the summer months, but the fans try their best. We make all sorts of plastic items here. It is not a quiet job. There is always the sound of the machines clicking and the smell of melting plastic in the air. If you walk inside, you will see crates stacked up high, mostly waiting for the tempo to arrive and take them away. We do not have a big team, just a few local guys who know how to handle the molds and keep things moving. Sometimes the orders are small, sometimes they are bigger, and we just handle them one by one. The floor is usually covered in little bits of plastic scrap that we sweep up at the end of every shift. It is a simple setup we have here. We don't use any fancy computer systems for the most part, just notebooks and pens to keep track of what we are doing. It is just a regular factory doing regular work every day in a corner of the industrial estate.
