About Ambika Marble – Building & Construction Material in Umargam
Ambika Marble is located at Shed No. J-32, right behind the power house in the Gidc area. Working with stone is a heavy and loud job. Our shed is usually filled with the sound of the saws cutting through large slabs of marble. We use a lot of water to keep the dust down and the blades cool, so the floor is almost always wet. You have to wear good boots to work here. We have a wide variety of marble slabs lined up against the walls. Some have beautiful veins and others are more plain. Customers come in and walk around the shed to pick out the exact piece they want for their floors or counters. We don't do any big marketing. We just let the stone speak for itself. Moving these slabs is a two-person job at least, and we have to be very careful not to crack them. It’s a lot of physical labor, but it’s satisfying to see a finished piece. The Gidc is a no-nonsense place to work. Everyone is focused on getting their tasks done. We are just one of the many sheds in the area, doing our best to provide good marble to the local builders and homeowners. It’s a simple, hardworking business and we’ve been at it for years now. We just handle the stone and try to keep the cuts straight.
