Our place is Shed No. 8 inside the Murlidhar Compound. If you know the area near the railway fatak road in the O.T. Section of Ulhasnagar, you know it gets pretty loud. The trains pass by and the whole shed kind of rattles a little bit. It is something you just get used to after a week or two. We spend most of our hours here among the machines and the stacks of materials. It is a workshop, so it is never really clean no matter how much we sweep up at the end of the shift. The heat can get pretty bad under the tin roof during the summer months but we have a couple of big fans that keep the air moving. We are right by the Ulhasnagar Station, so there is always a crowd of people walking past the main gate of the compound. We have been in this shed for a long time. The walls have seen a lot of work. We handle metal and plastic stuff all day. It is heavy work and our hands usually have grease or dust on them by lunchtime. We sit out front for a bit to eat and watch the traffic near the railway crossing. It is a busy part of town and there is always something happening on the road. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. We are not fancy people, just workers in a shed.
