If you walk through the Furniture Bazaar, you’ll find us at number 1149. We’re right opposite Prince Market. It’s a noisy part of town, especially with the Axis Bank nearby where people are always parking their bikes and cars. At Ahuja Furnitures, there’s usually a thin layer of sawdust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We have chairs and tables stacked up, and sometimes it’s hard to walk through the aisles without bumping into a wardrobe or a bed frame. It’s a bit of a maze in here. My clothes usually smell like wood glue and polish by the end of the day. Since we are directly opposite Prince Market, it is easy to find, even when the street is crowded. Customers come in and sit on the sofas to test them out, and we just let them take their time. We aren't the type to follow you around the shop. The light in the back of the store is a bit dim, but we know where everything is. There is no shortage of people watching from our front door. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane, and we have to help the driver navigate out. It’s just part of the daily grind. We don’t have an air conditioner that works very well, so the big ceiling fans are always on full blast. It’s a simple shop, selling stuff that people need for their homes. We’ve been in this bazaar for years.
