Our place, Maa Hrsidhi Earth Movers, is located right by Karthik Chowk. If you know where Ram Ghat is, then you’ve probably passed us plenty of times. It’s a busy area, especially during the festivals when everyone is heading down to the water. We spend most of our time maintaining the loaders and excavators. They take a beating on the rocky ground around here, so there is always a part to replace or a leak to plug. We aren't big on fancy titles or corporate meetings. Usually, we're just sitting on a plastic chair outside the shop, waiting for the next call or checking the oil levels. The dust from the road gets everywhere, so the machines never stay clean for long. That's fine with us because it shows they're working. Some days the heat is tough, but we just drink some tea and keep going. We know most of the guys working on the local construction sites by name. It’s that kind of neighborhood. When someone needs some earth moved near the chowk, they usually find us pretty quick. We don't have a big website or anything like that. We just focus on getting the machines to where they need to be on time. It is a lot of hard work, but we like being part of the community here near the ghat. Sometimes the traffic is slow, but we manage to get the trailers through.
