We make bricks in Ashok Nagar, right near the Jeevangi Ganj Hospital. We’ve been here at this spot for a while now. Most of the time we’re just stacking them up and waiting for the tractors to come by. It’s dusty work but someone has to do it. The yard is usually pretty busy in the mornings when it’s cooler. We know the neighbors around the hospital quite well. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with orders when the heavy rain comes and we can't dry anything. We just try to get the loads filled and on the trucks as fast as we can. Nothing fancy here, just a lot of red clay and heat from the kilns. If you're coming from the hospital side, you'll see our piles of bricks easily. We focus on the daily work, getting the mud right and making sure they bake for long enough. The crew knows the routine by heart now. We don't spend any time in an office because the real work is outside in the yard. J D Bricks has been at this location for a good bit. People stop by and ask for prices, and we just tell them what we have ready to go. Sometimes we're out of stock if a big project just took a whole load. But we start the next batch right away. It's just simple work. We don't have a big sign, just the bricks piled up in Ashok Nagar. We hope the weather stays dry so we can keep the fires going.
