If you have ever been to the Ujjain City railway station, you have probably walked right past our office. We are situated right there on Railway Station Road. It is probably the loudest place in the whole city to have an office, but it is exactly where the people are. Gourav Travel is basically just me and a couple of other guys. Trains come in at all hours of the day and night, so we spend a lot of our time just waiting for the next crowd to exit the station gates. You see people from all over India coming through here. Some look very tired from their journey, while others are just excited to be in Ujjain. We help them get to their hotels or wherever they are staying. The station area is always a bit dusty and there is always someone nearby selling tea or snacks. We don’t have any fancy furniture in here. It’s just some sturdy chairs and a phone that rings more than it should. I’ve lived in Ujjain my whole life, so I know every single shortcut and back alleyway. Working at the railway station means you never truly have a quiet day to yourself. Even late at night, there is movement and noise. We just keep track of the train schedules and try to be ready. It isn't a glamorous job, but it keeps us very busy. We see all sorts of things happening here. It is our daily routine.
