Ganesh Kirana Store

Ganesh Kirana Store is over at Shop No. 4 on Dewas Road. We are in the Nagjhiri area of Ujjain City. Being a kirana store means we deal with all the daily groceries like dal, rice, sugar, oils, and various spices. The shop is situated in a convenient spot for the families living around Dewas Road to pick up what they need. It’s a typical neighborhood store where you can see sacks of grain on the floor and glass jars of sweets on the counter for the local kids. I spend most of my day weighing out items and packing them into brown paper bags. We know most of our customers well, and we often chat about the weather or local news while I'm tallying up their bills on a notepad. The shop is not very modern or fancy, but it is clean and organized in its own way. We try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to go home empty-handed at the end of the day. Sometimes the morning rush can be a bit much when everyone wants their supplies at once, but usually, it’s a steady flow of people. My hands are usually covered in a bit of flour or dust from the spices, but that is just part of the job. We aren't trying to compete with the big supermarkets in the city center. We just want to be the place where the Nagjhiri residents feel comfortable coming for their daily kitchen needs. It’s a simple business for us.
