Shikhar Emporium

We are located in Surana Bhawan right at Chatri Chowk. It’s a landmark area, so people find us pretty easily. The shop isn't very large, but we pack it with as much as we can. We've been here for quite some time, and the building has that old-style charm to it. You can see the clock tower from the front door. We sell various things, and the inventory changes depending on the season. In the mornings, we sweep the front and dust the shelves. It’s a lot of manual work to keep things looking decent. We don't have a fancy website or a digital catalog. If you want to see what we have, you just have to come in and look. The bells from the nearby temple ring throughout the day. It’s a nice sound to work to. We sit on small stools behind the counter and wait for customers. Sometimes it's very busy, especially during festivals, and other times it's just us and the radio. We use a simple notebook to keep track of what we sell. The wooden cabinets are old and sometimes the drawers stick. We just give them a good tug. It's an honest living. We know the names of most people who walk by. We've been part of this neighborhood for as long as I can remember. The street can get dusty, but we keep our corner clean enough.
