Birla Hospital

Birla Hospital is right at the 3 Batti Chouraha. If you are looking for us, just look opposite the CP Sai Petrol Pump in Freeganj. That petrol pump is always busy, so there are always cars and bikes turning around the intersection. It’s a noisy spot to have a hospital, but it means everyone can find us. Freeganj is a place where people are always moving. Inside the hospital, we try to keep things moving too. We have the wards and the tiny office where we do the paperwork. The floors are that old tile that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We see a lot of different people coming through the doors. Some just need a quick check, and others stay for a few days. The nurses are usually rushing around with clipboards. We don't have those fancy computer screens everywhere. We still use a lot of paper and pens. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe. The smell of medicine is always in the air. We eat our lunch in a small room in the back while listening to the traffic from the Chouraha. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the generator. It’s just how things are here. We don't make a big deal out of it. We just keep the hospital running as best as we can every single day.
