Running a fishing business like Vikrama Fishing Company means you get used to the smell of salt and the sound of water pretty quickly. We operate out of Rajshree, and if you want to send us anything, it goes to Post Box No. 8. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly. Most of the guys are out before dawn, and they come back tired. The weather is the biggest thing we talk about. If it’s raining hard or the sea is rough, everything slows down. We’ve had some good seasons and some lean ones, too. That’s just how it goes when you’re working with nature. Our office is more of a place to keep the ledgers and handle the mail than a place for sitting around. It’s a bit cluttered with nets and old gear that needs fixing. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the boats, and the catch. Sometimes the engine on the old boat acts up, and we spend half the day fixing it instead of being on the water. It’s frustrating, but you get used to it. We know the local waters well. People around here know us as the ones who stay late to finish cleaning the decks. We don't make a big fuss about what we do. It’s just fishing, plain and simple, and it keeps us busy enough throughout the year.
