Rainbow Masala

Rainbow Masala is out in Korangrapady, specifically at No.1-381(1) in Bailoor. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main city, which we like. We spend our days surrounded by the smell of ground chilies, turmeric, and coriander. It’s a very physical job, moving bags around and making sure the grinders are working like they should. The building we are in is sturdy and keeps the spices dry, which is the most important thing for us. We started this because we wanted to do something local and stay in the Bailoor area. There isn't any big corporate structure here, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life in this part of town. We see the same faces every week coming in to get their supplies. It’s nice to have that connection with the people who live nearby. We don't spend money on commercials or big posters. Word of mouth is usually how people hear about us. We keep the floor swept and the bags sealed tight. By the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired and covered in a bit of spice dust, but it’s a good kind of tired. It’s just a regular local business trying to do things right every day and make sure the neighbors have what they need for their kitchens.
