This is the office for the city corporation work. Even though the name says Mangalore, this specific spot is actually located in Udupi, Karnataka, at House No with the 576101 pincode. It’s a bit of a government setup, so things move at their own pace here. We handle a lot of the local paperwork and town matters that people bring in every day. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we sit and try to get through the files. Sometimes the queues get a bit long, especially on Monday mornings when everyone shows up at once. We do our best to help out with the permits and local issues that crop up in the district. It’s a lot of talking to people and filling out forms. Working in Udupi is alright, the weather is usually what you'd expect for this part of the coast. We’ve got a few desks and some old fans that keep things moving. Most of us have lived in Karnataka our whole lives, so we know the local rules pretty well. It’s a steady job and we see a lot of different faces come through the doors. Some days are quieter than others, which is nice for catching up on the backlog. We aren't trying to be anything fancy, just a local office doing what needs to be done for the city and the people living here. We have some old posters on the wall and plenty of files stacked up, which is pretty normal for us. It’s a bit dusty but it’s home.
