Kalbavi Venkat Rao & Sons

We are located down by the Port Road in Bunder. Kalbavi Venkat Rao & Sons has been a family name in this area for a few generations now. The air around here always has a bit of that salt smell from the sea, being so close to the port. Our building is old, and it has a lot of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint every now and then. We deal with trade and goods that come through the harbor. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of shipments. My father and his father did this before me, so we have a lot of history in these rooms. The desks are heavy wood and the ledgers are often filled with handwritten notes. We don't go in for much modern technology unless it actually helps us move things faster. It’s more about the relationships we have with the people we buy from and sell to. Bunder is a place that never really sleeps, with trucks coming in and out at all hours. We stay busy with the daily grind of loading and unloading. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is what we know. We take pride in being a steady presence on Port Road. People know they can find us here, just like they have for years. It’s just how we do things in the family. We hope to stay here doing the same work for a long time yet.
