Amma Ginger Garlic Paste

We are situated at 106 Main Road in Kidiyoor. The main thing we do here is make ginger garlic paste. If you walk anywhere near our building, you will definitely know what we are making because the smell of fresh garlic is very strong. We have mostly gotten used to it, but visitors usually notice it right away. We spend most of our day peeling ginger and cleaning garlic cloves. It is a messy and sticky job, but it is what we do. We sell our paste to a lot of the local grocery shops and some of the small restaurants in the area. It is a small operation, mostly just a few of us in the back room with the grinding machines. We do not have a big budget for marketing or fancy packaging. Most people know us simply because we have been here on the Main Road for so many years. We try to keep our prices low so that the local families can afford to buy our paste for their cooking. Sometimes the grinders break down and we have to spend half the day fixing them instead of producing anything. That is just part of running a small shop. We do not mind the hard work at all. It feels good to see our jars on the shelves at the market nearby. We keep everything very basic and just focus on making the paste as well as we can. It is what we know and we stay at it.
