Abir Cashew Private Limited is tucked away at No. 7-261, in a place called Nandagokula over in Ananthanagara. This is in the Hebri area, specifically near Hosuru. It’s a bit different out here compared to the big cities. We have a lot more space, which is good for processing cashews. The building is just a regular structure where we do all our drying and packing. Most of the people working here are from around the local village. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. There’s a lot of manual labor involved in what we do. You have to be careful with the shells and the kernels. We don't use a lot of high-tech machinery, just a lot of hands-on work. It keeps everyone busy. The air smells like roasted nuts most days. We don't really have a big sign outside or a lobby. It’s just a workspace. We focus on getting the cashews ready for the distributors who come by once a week. Sometimes the rain in Hebri slows us down, especially during the monsoon, but we work around it. It’s a quiet life compared to Bangalore, but there’s always work to be done. We just take it day by day and make sure everything is how it should be. It's a steady business for us and provides for the local families. We don't have any big corporate goals, just steady work.
