Abhiruchi Masala

Abhiruchi Masala is located at a place called Sowparnika. We are right on N.H-66 in Tallur, which is in the Kundapura area of Udupi district. Being so close to Mangalore, we get a lot of the coastal weather. Our building sits near the highway, so we hear the sound of long-distance trucks passing by all day and night. It’s a constant hum. We make different kinds of masala here. It’s a local business and we have been at this spot for quite some time. The facility isn't very large, but we have enough space for our grinders and the packing tables. The smell of roasted spices is very strong inside. You get used to it after a few minutes, but visitors always notice it right away. We do not have any polished brochures or a big sales team. It is just a few of us who know the recipes and how to run the machines. We focus on the daily chores and making sure the batches are right. Tallur is a small place, so everyone knows us. We do not feel the need to act like a big company. We just do our work, talk to the local drivers who pick up our goods, and go home. Sometimes the monsoon rains make things difficult, but we just keep the doors shut and keep working through it. It is just how things go around here on the highway.
