Vivekananda Farm

Vivekananda Farm sits on State Bank Road over in Udumalpet, specifically at the 3/389 address in Pulankinar. Life here is pretty much dictated by the sun and the weather. We wake up early, usually before the light even hits the fields. There is always something to do, whether it’s checking the water lines or looking after whatever we have growing that season. The soil around here takes some work, but it’s what we do. Udumalpet can get quite dry, so we’re always keeping an eye on the clouds. The farm isn't a showpiece; it’s a working place with dirt on the floors and tools leaning against the walls. We have a lot of space out here compared to the crowded town center. Sometimes the cows get a bit noisy in the afternoon, or the wind picks up dust from the road. People from around Pulankinar stop by occasionally to see what’s happening or to ask about the crops. We don't have any fancy office or a receptionist. Usually, if you need someone, you just have to walk around until you find us in the back near the sheds. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my back usually aches by the time evening rolls around. But it’s quiet out here at night, and you can see the stars pretty clearly. It’s just a regular farm doing what farms do. We’ve been here a long time and the routine stays mostly the same.
