Mahaalaxmi Granites

Our place is on Pollachi Main Road, specifically Door No 38/1-A. If you’re heading out that way, we are right opposite Vidhya Sagar College. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the college is. We have a lot of granite stacked up here. It’s a bit of a dusty job, and the road gets really crowded with students and commuters during the morning and evening hours. We spend a lot of time just arranging the pieces so people can actually see the patterns in the stone. We started out small and just kept adding more stock as we went along. It’s mostly just family running the show here. We don’t do any big advertising. Usually, people just see our boards while they’re driving past or their neighbors told them about us. The weather here can be a bit tough on the outdoor stock, so we’re always cleaning things off to keep them looking decent. We have a small shed where we sit when it’s not too busy. It’s not a fancy office by any means, just a desk and a few chairs. We’ve got a couple of guys who help with the loading when a truck comes in. Most of our day is spent talking to contractors or homeowners who are just trying to pick something for their new house. It’s a steady life and we’re happy to be part of the local community here. We just take things one day at a time.
