Down at 10 Ambedkar Chowk in Jakhani, you’ll find us mostly stuck in the middle of all the Udhampur traffic. Being in Jammu & Kashmir, we have to deal with some tough terrain sometimes, but that’s just how it is for Vitasta Constructions Private Limited. We set up shop here because it’s a central spot in Udhampur-182101, and it makes it easier to get our trucks out to the different sites across the region. Most mornings start with a lot of noise and checking if the cement arrived on time. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to do honest work for the people in the neighborhood. Jakhani is a good place to be based. You see the same faces every day, which is nice. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much, but once we are out on the actual construction site, things feel better. We use a lot of local stone and materials whenever we can get them. It’s funny how much time you spend just waiting for the weather to clear up so you can pour a foundation. We have a small team, mostly local guys who have been working with tools since they were kids. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of muddy boots by the door. That’s pretty much how we operate every day. We just take it one brick at a time and hope the rain stays away.
