Sulu General Trading is based in Udhampur, specifically out of Dally Chak. It’s run by Usha, who is the wife of Parshotam Singh. We are a general trading company, which basically means we deal with a lot of different types of goods and supplies depending on what people need. It’s a local business through and through. Udhampur is a good place for this kind of work because it’s a bit of a hub for the region. Our setup is pretty simple. We don’t have a massive warehouse with fancy technology; it’s more about knowing the right people and getting the right items to them when they need them. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting with people in person to figure out what they are looking for and how we can get it delivered. Sometimes the logistics of moving goods through Jammu and Kashmir can be a bit tricky with the mountain roads and the sudden weather changes, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't looking to be some giant corporation with hundreds of branches. We just want to keep the trading going and make sure the people we work with are satisfied. The office is basically at the house in Dally Chak, which keeps things straightforward and easy to manage. We don't have a lot of employees, just family and a couple of helpers who have been with us for a while. It’s a quiet life.
