Government Of Jammu & Kashmir

We are based out of 18/2 in Indranagar, which is part of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. Udhampur is a military town mostly, and we are just one of the government offices tucked away in a residential-looking area. It gets quite cold here in the winter months, so we spend a lot of time around the heaters with our coats on. The office handles various tasks for the Jammu and Kashmir government. It’s not a large place. The building is a bit older and has that typical local look with the slanted roof to help with the snow. We deal with the locals who come in from the surrounding villages for their paperwork or to file some kind of application. There is always a bit of a wait, but people are used to that. We don't have fancy furniture or anything. Just the basic desks and those green filing cabinets that every government office seems to have. The walk to the main market from Indranagar is nice when the weather is clear and you can see the mountains. We keep the registers updated and try to answer the phone when it rings, though the lines can be a bit temperamental sometimes. It is just a regular office day for us. We see the same faces every week. It’s a quiet life in this part of the state, and we just do what needs doing to keep the files moving along through the system without much fuss.
