We've been here in Udhampur at Ekta Vihar for a while now. It’s a busy spot on M.H. Road. The rooms keep us busy all day, making sure things are clean and ready for whoever shows up. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we try to keep things steady. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything, just a solid place to stay when you're passing through Jammu and Kashmir. Most mornings start with a lot of tea and checking the registers. We have staff who have lived around here their whole lives. They know the shortcuts and where to get the best snacks nearby. People come here for work or just because they are traveling up the mountains. We don't have a lot of big speeches about what we do. We just open the doors and get to work. The building itself has seen a lot of seasons. In winter, it gets quite cold, so we spend a lot of time making sure the heaters are actually doing their job. It’s a lot of laundry, a lot of keys being handed back and forth, and making sure the kitchen has enough supplies. We aren't trying to be the most famous place, just a reliable one on this side of town. It’s a bit of a trek to get here sometimes, but we’re always around if someone needs a room.
