Country Inn & Suites By Carlson

Down here in Vaishnodevi, we run the Country Inn & Suites. It’s a place that stays busy because of all the pilgrims coming through to visit the shrine. We see people from all over, some looking very tired after their journey and others just starting out. Our building is a solid presence in the area. We try to keep it clean and comfortable, but we aren't about being overly fancy. It’s more about giving people a place to rest their feet and get a good night's sleep. The air here is different, a bit crisper because of the location. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the logistics of people coming and going at all hours. Some guests arrive late at night and others leave before the sun is even up. It’s a constant flow. The staff here are mostly locals who know the paths and the town well. We talk to guests about their trek or how the weather is looking up on the hill. It’s a very human job, listening to stories and helping out where we can. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just provide rooms and food to those who need it. It’s a big responsibility, especially given why people are here, and we just try to do our part without making a fuss. It gets busy, but we keep going.
