Kumar Generall Store

Kumar Generall Store is located right in the middle of the Main Market in Udham Singh Nagar. If you have ever walked through this market, you have probably seen our shop near the dusty corner. We sell a bit of everything, from loose lentils and rice to small packets of biscuits and soap. The shop is quite small and the wooden shelves are usually packed right up to the ceiling. It is hard to keep everything perfectly organized when people are coming in and out all day asking for different items. In the mornings, it is mostly people getting their milk or fresh bread before they head off to work. Then it gets quiet for a bit in the afternoon when it is too hot to be outside. That is when we restock the shelves and check what is running low in the back. The dust from the main road is a constant battle, so we are always wiping down the glass jars and the counter. We know most of the families around here by their first names. They have been coming to us for many years now. My son helps out after school sometimes, though he would much rather be out playing cricket with his friends. We do not have a delivery van, just a small old scooter for quick trips to nearby houses. It is a simple life but we like being part of the daily noise.
