Being on Gurudwara Road in the main market of Rudrapur means it’s never actually quiet. H-26 is our little spot in the middle of all that chaos. We have racks and racks of clothes squeezed into the space. Most of the time, I’m just refolding things that people have looked at during the day. It’s a cycle that never ends. The shop has been here for a bit and the floor is worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We get a lot of noise from the temple and the shoppers outside shouting to each other. On rainy days, the water tends to pool a bit near the entrance, so we keep a mop handy. It’s a simple setup with basic shelves and some old mirrors that have seen better days. We don't do any big advertisements or anything. People just walk in because they are already in the market buying vegetables or electronics. Sometimes I sit on a stool near the door just to get some fresh air and watch the rickshaws go by. The inventory changes depending on the season, but the way we run things stays the same. It’s a lot of manual work, checking sizes and making sure nothing is damaged on the hangers. By the time we close the doors at night, my back usually hurts a little, but it’s part of the job.
