Our place is at House No.203 in Jarhi, which is part of the Shyampura area in Dehradun. It is not exactly in the middle of the city, so it’s a bit quieter here compared to the main markets. We handle fabrics and there is always something being cut or moved around. The space isn't huge, but we make it work for what we need. Living and working in Dehradun is nice because the weather doesn't get as crazy hot as the plains, though it rains a lot. When the monsoon hits, we have to be really careful about keeping everything dry inside the house. We have been at this address for several years. Neighbors know us as the people who are always dealing with rolls of cloth. Sometimes the delivery trucks find it a bit tricky to get into the lane if someone has parked badly, but we usually sort it out with a bit of shouting and pointing. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation. It’s just a small group of us here making sure the orders get handled. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the material and packing it up. There is no secret to what we do. We just turn up, do the work, and go home. The district of Dehradun has changed a lot, but this little spot in Shyampura stays mostly the same. We like the rhythm of the day here. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening.
