Our company is situated at B-1 in the Industrial Estate on Bazpur Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and the industrial estate itself is full of all kinds of businesses. At Astha Beej Company, we focus mostly on seeds. Because of that, our space is often filled with large sacks and the earthy scent of different crops. The office part of B-1 is just a couple of desks and a few chairs for when farmers or suppliers come in to talk. It’s a very functional space. We don’t have posters on the walls or any corporate slogans. The floor is concrete and the walls are just painted a plain color. We spend most of the day tracking the inventory and making sure the seeds are stored in a dry place. Bazpur Road is a main artery for transport, so there is always a rhythm of trucks passing by outside our gate. We start our days quite early to get the shipments ready before it gets too hot in the estate. The team here is small and we all know each other well. We don’t really think of ourselves as a big corporation; we’re just a local business on the industrial estate. Most of our work is physical, moving bags and checking labels. It’s honest work and we’ve been at this B-1 location for a long time. People around Bazpur know where to find us if they need seeds for the season.
