Shriram Clinic

Shriram Clinic is located on Bazar Rd in Gevrai. It is a busy street, so there is always a lot of noise from the market nearby. We have been here for many years, and the building is starting to show its age a bit. The paint on the front door is peeling in some spots, but we don't mind it much. Inside, there are a few rows of plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait. We have a ceiling fan that wobbles a little, but it keeps the air moving on hot afternoons. My assistant, Rahul, usually sits at the small wooden desk near the entrance. He handles the registration and keeps the files in order. We use old paper folders for everyone. Most of the people who come here are from the surrounding villages who are in town for the market. They usually bring news from their farms. Sometimes it gets quite crowded, and people have to stand outside on the sidewalk. We try to get through everyone as fast as we can, but we don't like to rush. The tea shop across the road often brings over a tray of chai for us in the morning. It is a nice routine. The floor is made of gray stone that we sweep twice a day because of the dust from the road. It’s just a normal place for people to get checked out. We don’t have fancy equipment, just the basics like a scale and a blood pressure cuff.
