Dhoras Hospital

Out here in Mominpura, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Dhoras Hospital is tucked away on Bedre Galli in Gevrai. It’s a local spot where most of the patients are people we see at the market or around the village. The building itself is simple. We don’t have a lot of extra space, so we use every corner we have. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with the equipment and the beds. Working in Gevrai means you get to know everyone's business, which isn't always a bad thing in healthcare. You know who has a bad back and who’s expecting a baby. We spend our days dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s a fever, other times it’s something more complicated. We don't have any polished speeches or fancy brochures. We just talk to people like regular folks. Bedre Galli is a narrow street, so it can get a bit cramped when it’s busy. We’ve been here for a while and the walls have seen a lot of history. It’s a modest hospital, but it serves the purpose for Mominpura. We keep the floors clean and the medicine stocked. That’s about all you can do. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it feels right to be here in Gevrai helping out our own people. We stay late if we have to because that is just what the neighborhood expects from us every day.
