Garibvikas Microfin Foundation

Our office for Garibvikas Microfin Foundation is over at Udhamsingh Nagar, right near the Gala Mandi in Rudrapur. We are located at AGM 55/1, which is a busy spot because of the market nearby. You can always hear the trucks and the people moving goods around at the mandi. It is a dusty area, especially when the weather is dry, but it is where the action is. We have a small office space where we handle the microfinance work every day. There are usually a few of us inside sitting at the desks, dealing with the local people who come in from the surrounding areas. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. The office is filled with registers and folders because we have to keep track of everything manually a lot of the time. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We know the shopkeepers and the laborers around the Gala Mandi quite well since we see them every morning. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the entries for the day, especially when it is busy. We just try to keep things moving along without making too much of a fuss. The building itself is older, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it serves our purpose for the foundation. It is just our regular workplace in Rudrapur.
