We are set up at A9/38 in the Engineer Hostel within the Zinc Colony at Debari, Udaipur. It’s an interesting place to work because it’s right in the middle of the colony where a lot of the staff live. The building is part of the hostel complex, so it’s not your typical glass-and-steel office. We have a few rooms dedicated to Vedanta Resources Plc's work here in Rajasthan. It’s usually pretty busy because there are people coming and going all the time. The Zinc Colony is like its own little town, so we have everything we need close by. Our office handles a lot of the administrative stuff for the local operations. It can get a bit loud with the sounds of the colony outside, but we are used to it. We have some old desks and chairs that have seen better days. There is no big marketing department here; we just focus on the task at hand. Udaipur is beautiful, but Debari is more about the work. We spend our time on spreadsheets and coordination calls. It’s a straightforward environment. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We just provide the local support needed for the bigger company. Sometimes we share a meal in the common area or just grab a quick tea between tasks. It’s a very human way to work, surrounded by the community we are part of. It’s just us doing our jobs.
