Udaipur Auto Gas

Our shop, Udaipur Auto Gas, is located at Ayad Dhoolkot Choraha on Thokar Road. We are directly opposite the Ayad Museum, so if you are visiting the museum, you can’t miss us. The area around the choraha is usually quite busy with traffic moving toward the main parts of Udaipur. We spend most of our day outside or in the open bay area of the shop. It gets very hot here during the summer, so we have a lot of shade structures set up to keep the sun off the cars we are working on. There’s usually a bit of a smell of gas and metal in the air. We have a small office area with a desk and some chairs, but most of the time we are out where the tools are. It’s a dusty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We don't have any fancy waiting rooms with television; people usually just stand around and watch us work or go grab a cold drink from the shop nearby. The museum across the street brings in some tourists, but most of our visitors are locals who need their gas kits checked or installed. We’ve been here long enough that we know the rhythm of the traffic and when the rush hour is going to start. It’s just honest work under the sun, keeping things running for the people who drive through this part of town and stopping for water breaks.
