Swarnkar Art & Crafts is located inside Aasind Ki Haveli. If you know City Palace Road, you know how busy and full of history it is. Working in an old haveli has its quirks. The walls are thick, and the rooms have that old-world feel that you just don't get in new buildings. We handle a lot of traditional items here. It’s a lot of manual work, using tools that have been around for a long time. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is quite nice, though it gets a bit dusty with all the materials we use. People visiting the City Palace often wander near our door. We aren't a big commercial store; it’s more of a workshop where things are actually made. My family has been doing this kind of work for a while. We have boxes and tools scattered around most of the time. It’s not always organized, but we know where everything is. The stone floors stay cool even when it's hot outside. Sometimes we just sit and work on a small detail for hours. It takes patience. We don't really do much advertising. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past the haveli and peaking in. It’s a solid way to live, making things with your hands in a place that has so much history in its stones. We just keep the tradition going as best as we can.
