The entrance has a few steps up from the street level. We have a heavy metal gate that we lock up at night. During the day, it stays wide open. People come and go constantly. Some are here for the research work, but most are just locals needing a checkup. The walls inside are painted a pale green color that’s starting to peel a little in the corners. We’ve been meaning to get it repainted, but there’s always something else to do first. The waiting room gets quite warm in the afternoon sun, even with the windows open. We have a few old fans that we keep running. You can hear the noise of the traffic from Seva Mandir Road all day. It’s a mix of horns and people talking. Our staff has been here for years. We know most of the families in the neighborhood by their first names. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk in and someone will help you out.
