Shivam Natya Kala Kendra

We are Shivam Natya Kala Kendra, based in Hiran Magri Sector-5, Udaipur. Our address is 25/169. This is a residential area, so our place feels very much like a part of the local neighborhood. We focus on dance and theater, hence the name 'Natya Kala'. It is a space where we practice and teach. We have been in this building for quite some time now. The rooms are simple with big mirrors and some mats on the floor. It is not a high-end studio with air conditioning in every corner. We use fans, and in the summer, it gets quite warm, but that is just part of the practice. We have students of all ages coming in. Some are kids learning their first steps, and others are more serious about theater. We do not have a big office staff. Usually, whoever is teaching also handles the phone calls and the cleaning. We do not use any fancy marketing language to get people in. Parents in Hiran Magri know about us through word of mouth. Sometimes we have small performances in the space itself, and it gets very crowded with families and friends. We just want to keep the local arts alive in our own small way. It is a humble place, and we like it that way. If you walk past Sector-5, you might hear the music coming from our windows. We stay open late for rehearsals.
