If you walk down Toran Bavri Mewar Motor Link Road 7, you’ll find us easily. There is always a bit of grease on our hands and the sound of tools clanging on the floor. Shakti Motors is just a place where we fix things that aren't running right. We’ve got parts laying around and the smell of oil is pretty much everywhere. It’s a loud street, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other over the traffic. We don't have a waiting room with soft chairs; mostly people just stand around or sit on a plastic stool while we look under the hood. It gets hot working on engines all day, especially in the afternoon sun, but we are used to it by now. The shop isn't very big, so we have to park the cars carefully so they don't block the road. Every day is different because you never know what kind of problem a bike or a car will have when it rolls in. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spills and looking for that one wrench that always seems to go missing when you need it most. It’s a basic setup, nothing too fancy, just us working on whatever comes our way. People in the neighborhood know the location well, and we’ve been at this spot for quite a while now without making much of a fuss.
