Rock Granites

Rock Granites sits right at 223, Ashok Nagar, Main Road, so we hear the traffic from the moment we open up until we lock the gates at night. It is a loud place, but that is part of being on a main road. We have rows of granite slabs standing up like giant books, and we spend our days walking between them with customers who are trying to pick out something for their kitchens. The stone is heavy and cold, and it takes a lot of effort to move it around safely. We have a few old cranes and some sturdy dollies that have seen a lot of use over the seasons. Sometimes the edges of the stone are sharp, so we have to be careful how we handle them. It isn’t a clean job; there is always a layer of fine grit on everything, including our clothes. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. Usually, you just find us out back or near the front gate talking to a driver about a delivery route. The business is straightforward and based on the physical work of moving heavy slabs from one place to another. We know the regulars by name and we know which stones are easy to cut and which ones are going to be a struggle. It is just the way things go here on the main road.
