R.K.Hospital & Test Tube Baby Center

Our hospital is located at 5 A, right opposite the RSEB office in Madhuban. It is a fairly large building and being across from the electricity board makes it very easy for people to find us. We have a lot of different things going on here because we are both a general hospital and a center for people trying to have babies. The waiting hall is often full of families, and you can see a mix of hope and worry on their faces. We have a lab area where we do the more complicated work, and we try to keep that part as quiet as we can. The hallways are long and have that typical hospital smell of cleaning fluid. We spend our days going between the rooms, checking on patients and talking to couples. It is a lot of responsibility, and the hours can get very long, especially when we have a lot of cases at once. We don't have any fancy art on the walls or plush carpets; everything is chosen because it is easy to clean and does the job. People come to us from all over the area because of the Madhuban location. It is a serious place, but we try to be kind to everyone who walks through the door. Outside, you can see the RSEB workers coming and going, which is the view we have every day.
