Ranka Sirs Classes is over at Sardarpura 215-C. It’s basically just a few rooms we’ve set up for teaching. I’m Ranka, and I’ve been doing this for more years than I care to count. The building is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the 215-C sign near the old gate. We have a few long benches and a large green board that’s seen better days. The chalk dust gets everywhere, especially on my shirts, but that’s just part of the job. Students come here after their regular school hours, usually looking a bit tired, so we try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We don't have air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that spin fast enough to keep the air moving during the Jodhpur summers. There’s a big water cooler in the corner where everyone gathers during the breaks. We don't use any fancy software or tablets. It’s just me talking and writing on the board, and the students taking notes in their registers. Sometimes we have to move the bikes around outside because they block the neighbor’s entrance. It’s a small, local operation. We know the parents and we know which kids are actually studying and which ones are just daydreaming. It’s honest work, and the rooms are always full of the sound of pencils scratching on paper and the occasional joke to keep things lively and help the time pass.
