Rajasthan Art

Our shop is right in the Vishwakarma area, not too far from the Five Star Garden at Thoukar Chouraha. It is a busy spot with lots of traffic passing by all day long. We have been working out of this space for a while, making different kinds of art pieces that people around here seem to like. The walls are covered in marks and splashes of color because we aren't very careful when we are in the middle of a project. It is a local business, run by people who actually live nearby. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people just know we are here because they see us working when they walk to the park or go to the market. There is always some dust on the floor and the shelves are crowded with old samples and tools we have collected over the years. We take our time with the work, so sometimes things aren't ready exactly when we said, but we always get it done eventually. It feels good to create something from scratch. The neighborhood is noisy with cars honking, but once we get started on a piece, we sort of tune it all out. We are just regular folks trying to make a living doing something we are actually good at. If you see the door open, you can walk in and look at what is on the benches. It's not always organized, but you can see the effort in every piece. We just want to keep the local tradition alive.
