Phoenix Tutorials

We are located at 62-A on the Main Road in Bhupalpura. It’s a decent area, quite central for most of the kids living around here in Udaipur. The building we are in has been around for a while. We have a few rooms where we hold the tutorials. It’s nothing like those big institutes you see in the papers. We just have simple whiteboards and some rows of desks. Usually, the sessions start in the afternoon because that’s when schools let out. You can hear the bikes and cars outside on the Main Road, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over time. Sometimes we have to tell the students to talk a bit louder so everyone can hear. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the subjects well enough to explain them. We spend a lot of time grading papers or just answering questions that the kids have. Sometimes we stay late if someone is struggling with a topic. It’s just what we do. We don’t have any fancy brochures or anything. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or friends. The air conditioner works most of the time, but during the really hot months, it struggles a bit. We just keep going anyway. It’s a honest place to study and we try to keep things as down-to-earth as we can for everyone who comes through. It’s been our daily life for years and we’ve seen many local children grow up here.
