Krishna General Store

Krishna General Store is right in the middle of the New Udaipur Market in Sector-14, specifically at 45-A. It is a typical neighborhood shop where we sell all the basic things people need for their homes. The shelves are packed with everything from soap and lentils to biscuits and notebooks. We have a big refrigerator for the milk and curd that arrives every morning. The space is a bit tight because we try to stock as much as possible so people do not have to go all the way to the main city. There is usually a bit of a crowd in the evenings when people are coming home from work and realize they forgot something for dinner. We know most of the people who live around Hiran Magri and they often stay for a few minutes to chat while we bag their items. The floor is made of simple stone and we have to mop it several times a day because of the dirt people track in. My son helps me out during the weekends when it gets especially busy. We do not have any computerized systems; everything is written down in a notebook or kept in our heads. It is just a regular local store trying to serve the families nearby and keep the shelves full of the usual daily essentials.
