Jodhawat Timber Pvt Ltd is located at Toran Bavri 24. If you come by, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of cut wood. It’s a large, open space because we need the room for all the logs and planks we keep in stock. The ground is mostly covered in sawdust, and it gets everywhere, even in our pockets. We’ve been here at Toran Bavri for a long time. It’s a family-run kind of place where things are done the old-fashioned way. We don’t have a fancy showroom. You just walk into the yard and see what we have. Most of the day is spent measuring, cutting, or loading trucks. It’s loud because of the saws, so we have to shout a bit to be heard. We keep a small office in the corner for the accounts, but it’s mostly filled with stacks of old ledgers. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to work in the yard, so we just huddle under the tin roof and wait it out. Jodhawat Timber is a practical business. We don't have time for a lot of talk. People come here when they need wood for a project, and we help them find the right pieces. It’s hard work, but we like the honesty of it and the way the wood feels in our hands every day.
