Jagdambe Pet

The industrial area around Cotton Mill Road is a pretty rough-and-tumble place. Jagdambe Pet is right there in Pratap Market, specifically over in Pratap Nagar. Our building is mostly a big open space where we handle all the PET materials. It’s dusty work, and the machines we use to process the plastic make a lot of noise. You have to shout sometimes to be heard over the grinders. The road outside is usually full of trucks, and during the monsoon, it gets quite messy with all the puddles. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just walk into the factory area. We’ve got bags of raw material piled up near the entrance and finished containers stacked in the back. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the metal roof traps all the heat. We keep a couple of big coolers running, but they only do so much. The guys working the floor are local, mostly from around Pratap Nagar. We know the routines of the other shops on Cotton Mill Road, like when the tea seller comes around or when the mail arrives. It’s a community of makers and workers. We don’t do much marketing because our work speaks for itself when people see the quality of the bottles. It’s a simple business, built on hard work and long hours every single week.
