Hindustan Zinc Limited

Our spot is in the New Engineers' Hostel, specifically Room GF 5 on the ground floor. Being in Zinc Nagar on Kapasan Road puts us right in the middle of things here in Chittorgarh. The hostel is usually full of people coming and going, mostly engineers and staff tied to Hindustan Zinc Limited. Since we are on the ground floor, we see everyone passing by the window. It can get a bit loud during shift changes, but that is just how it is. Rajasthan is famous for being hot, and being in a hostel room means you learn how to make the most of a small space. We have our setup here for handling whatever comes our way. It’s not a big corporate headquarters, just a room where we stay and do our work. We eat at the common mess and talk about the day's events. The building itself is sturdy but shows its age in places. There’s always someone nearby if you need help with something, which is the good thing about living in a hostel setup. We don’t have much in the way of decorations or fancy signs. People know where we are if they need to find us. It’s a very simple, practical existence. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay cool when the sun is high. Life in the hostel is busy but it keeps us connected to everyone.
