Hindustan Zinc Limited, A Vedanta Group

Our office is over at 9B-3 in Zinc Park, which sits right inside the Yashad Bhawan complex. This part of the Vedanta Group setup is where a lot of the administrative side of things happens. It is a decent enough spot, with some trees around the park that give a bit of shade when the sun is really beating down on Udaipur. Yashad Bhawan is a landmark in these parts, so nobody ever gets lost trying to find us. We spend most of our mornings dealing with logs and different internal reports. It is not the quietest place, especially when the phones start ringing all at once, but we manage just fine. There is a small canteen nearby where we usually grab some chai or a quick bite during the breaks. The desks are a bit cluttered with files and old maps, but that is how we like it because everything is within arm’s reach. We are not really into big corporate speeches or anything like that. We just show up, do our jobs, and head home to our families in the evening. Most of the people working here have been with the company for a decade or more, so we have seen the building age and the city change around us. It feels more like a community than just an office building most days. We keep things simple and try to stay on top of the tasks coming in from the main plant.
