Government Maharana Bhopal Hospital

The Government Maharana Bhopal Hospital is a huge place, but our specific section is the Mobile Surgical Unit located at Chetak Circle. It’s right in the middle of Udaipur, so it’s always incredibly busy. Chetak Circle is a landmark everyone knows, and being stationed here means we are right in the thick of things. The unit itself is a bit different from the main hospital buildings. It has a more functional, almost cramped feel because we have to fit so much into a smaller space. There’s always the sound of traffic from the circle outside, and it never really gets quiet. We have a lot of people coming in for various procedures, and our schedules are usually packed from early morning until late evening. The staff here is used to working in tight quarters. We don’t have the luxury of big waiting halls, so people often wait just outside or in the smaller corridors. It can get a bit chaotic when there are multiple things happening at once. The equipment is older, but we know how to use it well. We spend a lot of time organizing the files and making sure everything is ready for the next day. It’s a high-energy environment because of where we are. We aren't doing anything fancy; we're just providing surgical services in a very central, very loud part of the city. It’s a tough job but it’s our daily reality here at the MB Hospital surgical unit.
