If you go down into Bhopalwadi Bada Ganchiwada, you will find us at number 30. Ganpati Metals is basically a place full of heavy stuff. We have sheets of metal, rods, and all sorts of hardware bits piling up in the corners. The air always smells a bit like iron and old grease. We spend the morning moving stock around so we can find what a customer is asking for. It’s a narrow street, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. We have a big scale for weighing things and it gets a lot of use. My hands are usually stained gray by the end of the day from handling the pipes and plates. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the workshop and storage where everything is kept. It gets loud when we are cutting something to size or when a delivery truck is unloading outside. We’ve known the other shopkeepers around here for years. It’s a busy part of town and there is always someone walking past. We just stay focused on the inventory and making sure we have enough stock for the local builders who come by. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench outside when it’s quiet. It is just a regular business, nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the metal moving and handle the daily chores of a hardware shop. Most of the items are oily or have that cold metal feel when you touch them.
